Ohma Tokita enters a hidden world where corporate disputes are settled in brutal gladiator bouts. Forget the money, he just wants to fight -- and win.
Chairman Nogi suddenly calls low-level employee Kazuo Yamashita into a meeting and gives him an unexpected -- and unwanted -- new assignment. For his debut kengan match, Ohma calmly faces Yoshitake Real Estate's Lihito, an arrogant fighter with a superhuman vice-like grip.
Chairman Nogi refuses to enter Ohma into the Annihilation Tournament, but there's another way for him to qualify -- and he'll need Yamashita's help. Unexpectedly, Ohma is thrown into an all-out brawl.
Over fighters are locked in a room, but only five can make it into the tournament finals. While some try to enjoy their time on the luxury liner, others strategize behind the scenes, with one savvy shogi player pulling a surprising move.
In a tense backroom meeting with all the corporate participants, the tournament brackets are finally decided. Tomorrow, the battles begin. The Kengan Annihilation Tournament kicks off with great fanfare. In a battle between two storied lineages, Raian of the lethal Kure clan takes on Mokichi Robinson, scion of a legendary 19th century kengan fighter. The tournament continues with plenty of rule-bending and inner-dealings in and out of the arena. Ohma chafes under Yamashita's fatherly affection.
The Annihilation Tournament rages on: corporate leaders jockey for the Kengan chairmanship while their gladiators beat each other bloody in the ring. Gladiators and spectators enjoy a night off.
Ohma visualizes his matches against formidable opponents -- including his former master, Niko Tokita. The fix is in: the match is rigged.
But Karo and his harpoon aren't following the script. Destinyland's Masami Nezu takes on Rei Mikazuchi, the scion of an assassin sect.
