I don't really know. TheGoliath33 Topic Creator 9 years ago 5. Nicodimus 9 years ago 6. Always hook up audio directly from the source component. Never pass audio through a TV, as doing that can only clip the signal and add noise. TheGoliath33 Topic Creator 9 years ago 7. Whenever you have sound coming into your tv from say a cable box, game console, dvd player or whatever the tv is simply going to pass 2 channel stereo sound out of the optical output.
It is just something to keep in mind for the future. Since you are using a sound bar it really isn't an issue and with being limited on audio inputs on the unit it doesn't hurt running everything through your tv.
You could get an optical splitter and run directly from the sources but again, it wouldn't serve much purpose with a sound bar so as long as you aren't getting any lip sync issues running through your tv will be fine. Again though for information purposes if you were using an actual surround sound unit you would be degrading your audio by ending up with 2 channel audio and using pro logic II processing rather than getting actual discrete information. So Nicodimus is right you always want to run directly from the source units, however with you using a sound bar this is one of the rare cases where this will be a moot point for the most part, again as long as you aren't getting any lip sync issues.
Coming soon: 2 Seaton Submersives from Mark Seaton. To someone familiar with PC networking, connecting PS3s will seem a very familiar task. To anyone not familiar, don't worry. It is by no means a difficult task. Connect your modem to your hub with an Ethernet cable. What could be the problem? We are having the same issue.
However when I hold the power button down it only beeps once. I have tried holding it down longer but then it just turns back off. Any other suggestions? It is plugged in and everything is set up correctly Show 59 more comments. Walter Galan mr2incredible. It sounds to me like you need to reset your PS3 video settings. While turning on your PS3, hold the power button down for about 5 seconds until you hear two beeps. I got it going, the trick is to turn it off then push the ON button and leave it for a couple a seconds i waited till i heard the double beep then you get a couple of choices such as "Turn off console", and others what you want is Reset Settins as soon as you say enter you will have reset your console and start all over Time, Date and dont worry all of your score and throphies are still there you just get your ps3 to its original version you will loose you online id but youll get it back once you sing in again on playstation network.

I tried it before and it worked for me. Also, sometimes u just need a new hdmi cable. Very good post my friend. Show 18 more comments. David Macholz. If it gives you storage error I imagine that's a bad hard drive brother! Hard drives are pretty cheap these days.
Powered off, and held in the power switch for a few seconds and a second beep. Now it is OK on the component connectors! I took a can of compressed air and unplugged the hdmi cable and blew out the ports on the back of the ps3 and tv and the cable ends.
I have tried every single advice listed above and mine still doesn't work. I was playing Oblivion and went into the main city when it froze. I truned it off and tried turning it back on. Now all I get is a "no signal" on my.
Makes not difference. I am so frustrated I don't know what to do!!!! I mean my tv won't even recogize that any devices are plugged in. My options are just tv and the direct tv p[top. Switch your hdmi ends ;put the one in the ps3 in the tv and the one in the tv in the ps3. This worked for me. Mine does the same after doing all the reset tricks I am thinking my video card is shot No answers but the same happend to me like I tried all of the trick even switched the cable heads used another cable too the difference is that it happened to mine when I was downloading the new software update.

For heating issue I cleaned the ventilation holes and tried fan test no use. Evan Bail. Connect the PlayStation 2 power cable.
The fat PS2 and the slim PlayStation 2 have different power cables. To connect the fat PS2, plug the "figure-eight" side of the power cable into the back of the PlayStation 2, and then plug it into the wall or a power strip. For slim PS2s, connect the power cable to the yellow "DC IN" jack on the back of the PlayStation 2, connect the power brick, and then plug the entire cable into the wall or power strip. Make sure that the cable has some slack so that it isn't straining the connection.
Connect an Ethernet cable optional. Some PS2 games have online functionality, and you'll need to connect your PlayStation 2 to your home network via Ethernet to take advantage of this. The slim PS2 has a built-in Ethernet adapter, but the fat PlayStation 2 requires a network adapter add-on. You won't be setting up your network on a system level.
Instead, individual games will handle the network settings when you attempt to connect. Many PS2 games that had online multiplayer no longer function online, as servers have long been shut down. Part 2. Connect a controller to the PlayStation 2. You'll need either an official PlayStation 2 controller called a DualShock 2 , or a third-party controller designed for the PS2. All new PlayStation 2 models come with a single DualShock 2 controller. Insert a memory card optional. If you want to be able to save your progress in games, you'll need to insert a PS2 memory card, official memory cards are 8 MB, which is enough space for lots of saved games.
You can purchase unofficial larger memory cards, but these have a higher chance of failing and corrupting your saved data.
However, official, larger memory cards do exist in 16 MB and 32 MB. You can store using the hard drive add-on without a memory card, but you need a memory card to install the hard drive software. You can play games without a memory card or a HDD, but your progress will be lost whenever you turn the system off or change games. Memory cards are inserted directly above the controller.
Make sure that the memory card label is facing up when you insert it. Turn your TV on to the correct input. Turn on your TV and switch it to the input that the PlayStation 2 is connected to. Power on the PS2. Press the power button on the front of the PlayStation 2. The light should turn green and, if the correct input is selected, you should see the PS2 opening logo animation.
If there is no game inserted, you'll be taken to the PS2 system menu. If a game is inserted, it will start automatically after the boot-up animation.
Insert a game. Place the game on the tray or place it onto the spindle. Push the slim lid closed, or push the Eject button again on the fat PlayStation 2 to close the tray. Don't eject a game while playing, or it may quit without saving. Take care not to touch the surface of the game disc when inserting or removing it.
This will help prevent scratches and damage, and keep your games working longer. Start a game in progressive scan mode component only. If your PlayStation 2 is connected with component cables, you may be able to enable progressive scan p mode.
This will result in a much clearer picture, but is only supported by certain games. If the game supports progressive scan, you'll see a message from the game telling you how to enable it.
